QC Bhangra Academy

Although American-born, I was Indian-raised and slowly learned to embrace South Asian values alongside American ideals. This culminated in college, where I proudly joined UNC Bhangra Elite, and experienced the thrill of an Indian folk tradition.

                                       Queen City Bhangra Academy

The Queen City Bhangra Academy was founded in 2010, a not-for-profit centered on sharing South Asian culture through music and dance, specifically focused on education. I also began to offer group bhangra dance and dhol lessons. Two years later, I am proud of the organization’s progress, and the community’s warm reception and appreciation for our efforts.
